Everyone is the stranger of a stranger... in a strange place, at the margin of Sudan and Ethiopia. At the margin of the margins of Sudan and Ethiopia. And every marginal would like to be the center. To rule, to deal, to kill to rule at the center.
Let's change the pattern. Let's recognise marginality as a rule. Let's make marginality a center. Let's give up with the idea of cultural diversity as "all different but all the same". Let's recognise otherness and alterity to assume better all the differences: "all different but in the same place". Let's talk about failures, let's talk about mixes, 'metissages'. We are all bastards.
Everyone is the bastard of a bastard[?] . Bastardy is our rule, there is no identity but an ID. There is no identity but my neighbour, my enemy, my brother. Let's talk about violence. Let's recognise our enmities, our fraternal antagonisms. Let's make violence history.
To accuse others for one's own misfortunes is a sign of want of education. To accuse oneself shows that one's education has begun. To accuse neither oneself nor others shows that one's education is complete.
Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though sometimes it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and grieves which we endure help us in our marching onward.
