Vladimir Nabakov

Vladimir Vladimirovich Nabokov )(22 April [O.S. 10 April] 1899,c Saint Petersburg – 2 July 1977, Montreux) is a Russian born multilingual, American novelist. Nabokov wrote his first nine novels in Russian, then rose to international prominence as a master English prose stylist. He also made contributions to entomology and had an interest in chess problems.Nabokov is noted for his complex plots, clever word play, and use of alliteration. He gained both fame and notoriety with his novel Lolita (1955), which tells of a grown man's devouring passion for a twelve-year-old girl.
