I see you Effen Vodka design team
This is a 1928 chrome cocktail shaker set that was on display at the Chicago Art Intitute. It is entitled 'Manhattan' and was made by an artist named Geddes.
For some reason, the shaker's shape rang a bell, and I thought there might be a premium vodka that had cribbed the look, so I snapped a pic and wrote myself a reminder to follow up online.
Turns out I didn't have to. At lunch a day later, in the bar, lined up between the oh-so-distinctive Absolut bottles and the Ketel One was a bottle whose outline looked exactly like the shaker at the Art Institute. It was a bottle of Effen Vodka.
Looks like their packaging team likes art deco. Me too.
