Cautious, careful people always casting about to preserve their reputation or social standards never can bring about reform. Those who are really in earnest are willing to be anything or nothing in the world's estimation, and publicly and privately, in season and out, avow their sympathies with despised ideas and their advocates, and bear the consequences.   Anthony, Susan B.

A bit about Anthony, Susan B. ...

Susan B. Anthony (February 15, 1820 -March 13, 1906) was a leader of the women's suffrage movement in the United States. She was a school teacher who became involved with abolitionism and then temperance. After the American Civil War she became discouraged that those working for "Negro" suffrage were still against votes for women, and co-founded the American Equal Rights Association.
