Lauren Bacall (born 16 September 1924) is an American film and stage actress and a former model. Known for her husky voice and sultry looks, Bacall became a fashion icon and role model for modern-day women early in her career. She was married to and appeared in movies with Humphrey Bogart. She is a cousin of Shimon Peres, the former Prime Minister of Israel.
