At present cats have more purchasing power and influence than the poor of this planet. Accidents of geography and colonial history should no longer determine who gets the fish.
Derek Wall is a member of the Green Party of England and Wales. He teaches political economy at Goldsmiths College and is an ecosocialist. He has written a series of books on green politics including most recently Babylon and Beyond which looks at anti-capitalist economics. In 2005 general election he stood as a candidate for constituency of Windsor and got 2.5% of the votes. In November 2005, he was narrowly beated by Keith Taylor in the election of the male Principal Speaker of the Green party, 851 votes to 803.
