Having the viewpoint that the best days of our lives is not foolish! It is foolish to only look back and dwell on what was, and be satisfied or content with it, rather than yearn and strive to make something better in the future. An optimist simply has a view of life that looks forward with expectation of how to use the events that come up, positive or negative, for their benefit.
