He was a friend of Harry Houdini, and was born in Scotland in 1869. He spent over 50 years on the stage. He used the first electric chair, provided by Houdini, as part of his act. He had a stiff waxed moustache, and in full dress was the typical "Oilcan Harry", resplendant in top hat and tails.
