I'm not afraid of facts, I welcome facts but a congeries of facts is not equivalent to an idea. This is the essential fallacy of the so-called scientific mind. People who mistake facts for ideas are incomplete thinkers; they are gossips.

Cynthia Ozick (b. April 17, 1928, New York City, New York to William Ozick and Celia Regelson) is an American writer whose works are about Jewish American life. Ozick earned a B.A. from New York University in 1949 and a M.A. from Ohio State University in 1950.
