The quotation is about the preciousness that life eventually comes to an ending. If there is not an ending in our lives, it is hard to appreciate what we have received and taken from the world. For example, would we still be touched by the magnificent sceneriess in the Great Canyon? Or would we still be thankful for the great technological advances such as the invention of mobile phones and computers that make our lives easier? Probably not, we would think that we have too much time in lives and how to spend time is the most important issue. We are not eternal, thus we cherish the moments we had; no matter it is sadness, or happiness.
