Explain/Complain

A mentor of mine once told an audience of his (after he arrived 15 minutes late for his parade): "Never complain, and never explain." He delivered this advice after striding to the podium and immediately launching into an address which I can only describe as "interesting, thought-provoking, and uplifting". We were spellbound. He was Lt.Col. Moshe, a Geologist and citizen soldier.
