Philip Arthur Larkin (August 9, 1922 December 2, 1985) was an English poet, novelist and jazz critic. He was offered, the Poet Laureateship following the death of John Betjeman, but declined. He spent his working life as a university librarian. Larkin died of esophageal cancer and is buried in the Cottingham Municipal Cemetery, Hull. · Can we improve this biography? Write us your version
