Javan
· ·
The Biblical character Javan was the fourth son of Noah's third son Japheth. He was believed to have been the progenitor of the Greeks through his sons Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim; "Ionia" was said to have been derived from his name, and the Greek nation was known as "Javan" in the Eastern Mediterranean. (Greek mythology traces the name "Ionia" to Ionas, a son of Apollo.) · Can we improve this biography? Post your version
